Due to the ongoing spread of COVID-19, many of the planned activities for the CADEAH team are postponed.

The CADEAH annual project meeting, scheduled for the end of May in Prague, has been postponed. At this meeting, we planned to not only discuss our work in progress, but take the first steps towards the CADEAH documentary. Hopefully, we’ll be able to resume this in the fall or winter.

Abby was meant to co-lead a seminar on “Fandom and the Use of Archival Material” at SCMS in Denver, discussing her work-in-progress in the CADEAH project about vaporwave-themed military remix videos with other scholars working at this intersection. While the conference has been cancelled, the working papers have been distributed and we are looking to carry on with the development of ideas across the group.

Maria and Eggo were supposed to present CADEAH at the conference “Digital Technologies and Heritage: Challenges and Issues,” where projects funded within the JP Digital Heritage Call were meant to meet in Paris in April. The conference has been postponed to the end of September 2020.

In the meantime, our research continues! The team at Umeå are developing their video reuse detector, and hope to have it available for testing in the near future. In Prague, the first papers on digitization in the Czech archives are being finalized. In Utrecht, data collection and analysis on military remix videos continues.

We on the CADEAH team hope that you are all staying safe and healthy, and will hopefully be seeing you all soon!
